Getting lunch at the student center I noticed something, its a pet peeve of mine, when people claim a single food for curing seemingly ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING. Whether it be cancer, cancer, well its usually something to prevent cancer, to boost your immune system, or to keep you from getting constipated. Among the claimed holy foods are green tea, pomegranate juice, blue berries, wine, yogurt… to name a few… I actually have a friend that claims drinking and swishing green tea around in his mouth will prevent him from getting gum / tongue cancer in his mouth from using chewing tobacco. Just do a Google search for “Miracle Foods”, this crap is out there everywhere, there are claims that go as far as to say that these foods will reverse the aging process.
But the reality is that there is no Silver Bullet food that is going to rid you of all of your problems… God knows Jaime Lee Curtis must be having constant diarrhea from her danactive, which claims to be a 1 stop solution to bowel irregularity… One of these healthy foods it not going to offset a poor diet. When you eat anything you should make an attempt at choosing something healthy. Don’t depend on miracle foods like pomegranate juice to balance out that trans-fat filled double cheeseburger you had at McDonald’s today.
